She weighs about 144 pounds in her human form and when transformed, weighs about 436 pounds; Frost stands at a height of five feet and ten inches. She is renowned for her revealing choice of wardrobe and is more than just comfortable in her own body, having no trouble at all wearing practically nothing in front of just about any kind of audience. Frost is lean and fit with attractive curves that make her eye candy. In terms of her personality, Emma Frost is generally disliked and for good reason. Frost is manipulative, sarcastic, and conniving. She is extremely blunt with her opinions and in a sense, has no regard for any tact when it comes to voicing her thoughts about anything. On top of being blunt, Frost is also arrogant although not exactly always over confident. She is aware of her limits and knows when something is too much for her to handle alone. With that being said, she is also aware of her capabilities and has no problem "flaunting what she's got" in the slightest. Emma is considered to be a very selfish person. In order to earn everything she has earned up until the present, she has done just about anything and not all of her methods could be considered ethical. She had talent, though, and never believed it once to be cheating but instead, thought of it as "using her gifts to her advantage". She has struggled to get where she is and believes that everything she owns is what she deserves. While she has a self-serving nature and tends to follow that instinct, that is not to say that helping others is beneath her. She is willing to sacrifice whatever it takes to achieve her goals and while she tries to avoid fatalities, Frost believes that bad things happen to bad people from time to time; in another perspective, sometimes bad things have to happen and people have to die in order to benefit other people. Of course Frost is exempted from this and strongly believes that everyone is better off having her around than not as she considers herself to be of great help to those around her when she does lend them a helping hand. Although she has a laundry list of negative qualities, she does have some good in her. Although she looks to benefit in the end, that is not to say that she does not look to help others benefit either; she just likes to ensure that she gets a big cut of the pie so to speak as well. HISTORY: Emma Grace Frost was born second out of three daughters and had one older brother. She was a leading member of an old Boston mercantile family which arrived from England in the 1600's. It was unknown to her parents but Emma and her sisters were mutants whom possessed telepathic powers which matured at puberty. Emma was deemed unfit in her father's eyes as her grade point averages were low and was a social outcast during her time at the Snow Valley School for Girls. When her mutant powers sprung up, the teen did not hesitate to use them to excel in all aspects of her life until things had finally turned around for her; she had even redeemed herself in her father's eyes but surprisingly, she refused to be her father's heir and instead, chose to make her way through life on her own instead. The next few chapters of Emma's life were less than pleasant. She had gone through a great deal and met many people, experiencing things such as the death of a close friend and roommate, as well as being the subject of kidnapping by Magneto of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants such that he could use her to kill all humans with the aid of Cerebro. Following that catastrophe, Emma dyed her hair blonde and enrolled into the Empire State University where she met her first fellow telepath, Astrid Bloom. Bloom served as a mentor and teacher to Frost, teaching her how to use her abilities. It was also during her time at the institute that Emma developed a romantic relationship with Ian Kendall, a teacher she was acquainted with from high school, but that all went sour too quickly. Emma's roommate, Christine McDermott, threatened to expose Mr. Kendall if he did not leave Emma but was choked by Kendall as per Astrid's telepathic instruction. When Emma discovered the truth, she did not hesitate to take down her mentor and revealed her identity as a mutant to her romantic interest, Mr. Kendall. Unexpectedly, Kendall chose to leave Emma out of disgust which led Emma to view humans as beings beneath mutants and began to believe that there was no reason for restraint when it came to using her powers. In the later years, Frost rose rapidly in the world of business due in part to her drive, intelligence, personal charm, and secret use of her telepathic powers, becoming a majority stockholder of a multi-billion dollar conglomerate which was renamed Frost International. With charm, natural beauty, and extraordinary talents, Emma was invited to join the Hellfire Club, a very elite and prestigious social organization of the world's wealthy and powerful figures. However, she was not invited to work at its head or anywhere near such a position; she was hired as a stripper. During this time, Frost met and became the ally of Sebastian Shaw, a member of the Club's Council of the Chosen (a group which secretly conspired to rule the world through economical and political means). Heads of the Club and Council, Edward Buckman and Paris Seville (also known as the White King and Queen) went on to launch a program to build "Sentinel" robots in order to track down superhuman mutants for use by the council in seeking power. However, all was not as they seemed. Through the use of her telepathy, Frost discovered that the Sentinel project was launched with the sole purpose of destroying all mutants. Together, Shaw and Frost staged a coup that earned them total control over the Council of the Chosen which they renamed the Inner Circle and bestowed on the two mutants the titles Black King and White Queen, respectively. During this time, Emma began recruiting young mutants and trained them to use their powers on the Inner Circle's behalf, officially founding the team that would be called the Hellions. Frost continued to operate under the Hellfire Club for some time and led her team of Hellions until a time-traveling attacker plunged Emma into a deep coma, unofficially bringing an end to a majority of the Hellions. Sometime later, an accident while her body was stored in the Med-lab of the X mansion caused Frost to mind swap with the mutant known as Iceman. She believed that she was trapped as a prisoner of the X-men and made an attempt to escape until she learned of the demise of her Hellions, causing Emma to break down. It was only then that she began to realize that she might have been lacking in training and believed that Xavier's approach may have been the right one. When she regained consciousness, Emma resumed her role as headmistress of the Massachusetts Academy and, along with Banshee, trained the new class of mutants, Generation X. Unfortunately the academy closed its doors following a revenge plan by Adrienne Frost which resulted in the death of a Generation X member and Emma murdering her sister. Once again, Frost returned to the Xavier institute but this time to teach. She was resented by most of the students at the school but managed to strike up a friendship with Hank McCoy. Another incident which resulted in the death of one of Frost's pupils only worked to put more resentment on her back but it was during this time that, with a void growing between Scott Summers and Jean Grey, Emma began to have a psychic affair with Scott. Out of anger, Emma's former pupils, the Stepford Cuckoos, tipped off Jean and in turn, the redhead tore through Frost's memories and forced her to remember all the terrible things she had repressed in the past. After another breakdown, Emma admitted to Wolverine that she had definitely fallen strongly and madly in love with Scott Summers. During her time at the institute for higher learning, Emma encountered an alternate future daughter of the Phoenix and Cyclops, Rachel Grey. In a contest on the astral plane, Frost managed to best her opponent despite Rachel's vast superiority. It was after that event that Emma offered to teach Rachel and help her to hone her telepathic abilities since, with Jean's death at the hands of the Magneto impostor Kuan-Yin Xorn, there was nobody else to do so. Although wary of her, Rachel accepted the proposal. After another series of long events, with a super-sentinel attack on Utopia, Emma considered going with Wolverine to the school in order to again pursue her love of teaching. Cyclops begged her to stay and she reluctantly agreed, joining the Extinction Team at the time. With rising tensions between the Avengers and the X-men, Emma sided with her fellow X-men against the Avengers. During the fight, Emma's telepathic abilities were blocked by a nanocloud created by Iron Man which forced her to rely solely on using her diamond form in combat. During the Avengers vs. X-men conflict, the Phoenix transformed Frost, Cyclops, Magik, Colossus, and Namor into avatars that all took Hope back to Earth in order to prepare her (whom was also meant to become an avatar for Phoenix). The Phoenixes went on to use their powers to make the world a better place by eliminating war but were attacked by the Avengers who continued to oppose them. That was when Cyclops decided to declare, "No more Avengers". The Avengers eventually joined forces with the X-men when Emma began exerting dominance over them and threatened those who bore any thoughts that displeased her. The new combined force challenged the Phoenixes and after a grueling fight, managed to take down the avatars. Frost was later apprehended by the new Avengers members but eventually freed by Cyclops and Magneto. While grateful to them both, Emma was still furious with Cyclops for brutally taking Emma's portion of the Phoenix and wanted nothing more than to get as far away from him as possible, revealing that she could no longer read the minds of others after being touched by the Phoenix Force. After a moment of deliberation, though, Emma agreed to join with Scott and Magneto once more and began searching for new mutants. Since losing her telepathy, Emma has since been in the process of retraining herself to once again tap into her psionic mutant powers. While nowhere near as adept as she was in the past, the self-driven Frost intends on one day regaining her abilities in their entirety. POWERS AND ABILITIES: Emma Frost possessed telepathic abilities that have been known to match those of Charles Xavier and is considered to be an alpha level mutant, cited at least once as a "world-class telepath", "Omega class telepath", and "Psi of the highest order". However in recent times, following her losing her connection to the Phoenix Force, Frost no longer has these powers. Telepathy: Frost has the ability to broadcast and receive thoughts over a range of 250 Earth miles. In the past she has been able to alter perceptions and memories, project blasts of psionic energy to cause mental pain or even render an opponent unconscious, and more. Mind-control, astral projections, mind-swapping, mental sedation, induction of mental pain by touch, and brain engram modification are also talents she has shown in the past. Furthermore she is also very proficient in performing "psychic surgery" which uses pin-pointed psionic energy to exert absolute psychic control over individual brain functions such that the physical form can be manipulated. Some examples of the outcomes that result in using her powers this way are accelerated healing and repaired disabilities; this is considered a sub-skill of telepathy but is unusual for even the most powerful of telepaths to tap into, though Emma has shown no reluctance in using it whenever necessary. Since being touched by the Phoenix Force, however, Frost is no longer capable of telepathic feats to the aforementioned extents and instead, have had her abilities reduced to "normal capacity". This includes basic level telepathic feats such as mind reading and the ability to project low-level psionic blasts, albeit she is unable to control when these powers turn on and off. Telekinesis: Albeit at a low level, Frost has demonstrated in the past on numerous counts to have hidden telekinetic powers. The limit of these powers allow her to levitate her own body and other small objects, propel or manipulate them as she chooses, stimulate individual molecules to generate heat, and generate concussive force or defensive shields at will. Unfortunately since this power is still novel to her, she can only lift a few hundred pounds at best and solid control demands the utmost concentration and prolonged use can cause a lot of mental strain on the telepath. Organic Diamond Form: After undergoing a body-wide secondary mutation, Frost is now able to transform her body into a flexible organic diamond form (similar to Colossus' organic steel form) by sheer force of will. She is unable to transform parts of her body and thus when she undergoes this transformation, her entire form changes. The telepath is able to remain in this organic diamond state for an undefined period of time but during this time, she does not have access to her telepathic powers and loses her empathy for others, becoming rather cold-hearted to some. On the other hand, in her diamond form, Frost gains superhuman strength (with the ability to lift up to two tons over her head with ease), superhuman stamina (as her organic tissues are transformed into a diamond state and produce almost no fatigue toxins during physical activity), superhuman durability and sustainability (being able to take damage from great impacts, strikes from beings with superhuman strength, resist temperature extremes, and requires no food, water, or oxygen to survive). Finally, the last perk to her organic diamond form is that she becomes immune to other telepathic powers and mental invasions. However, if she is rendered unconscious, she will revert back to her normal state. ROLE-PLAYING SAMPLE: It was raining outside and dark out. The tiny droplets hit the window in cascades, pouring down from the heavens and pelted the Earth beneath the sky in a thunderous applause. The view from beyond the window was a warm one. Standing behind the glass, Emma glanced down at the people running about outside, heading here and there believing that they would fulfill some sort of role in today's rapidly evolving society. Humans, she thought; humans were so petty and small, and amounted to nothing next to the superior mutant species. The blonde had her fair share of experience with humankind and was just about ready to hang up any hopes or faith she had left in them; they were so far beneath her and to them, mutants were just too powerful and unpredictable to control. "And yet we haven't burned this planet to the ground yet." She thought aloud and glanced down at the people scrambling about outside. Some of them were tolerable; the key word was some. In her time, Emma had bumped into some foul human beings with an unbelievably strong hate for all mutants, good and bad. It was natural, she supposed, for weaker and inferior creatures to lash out in fear, using whatever minuscule amounts of power they believed they had to fight the unknown. In a way, it was like how a cornered animal struck out against anybody that approached it, even if the person approaching it was trying to protect the savage beast. Emma was a telepath and while her powers might have left her temporarily, she could not forget some of the terrible things that human beings thought of her kind; mutantkind. They were inhumane in their ways and had no trouble wishing the worst upon what they could not understand or hope to control. Things they thought enticed the telepath to use her powers in the same inhumane ways to show the humans just how disgusting and grotesque their species really was... but that could no longer be done now as her psionic powers had been stripped clean from her. A deep frown emerged on her face; the thought was a rather sour one and one that she hated bringing back to her head. There was no use in thinking about it now; they were gone and all she could do was rely on her organic diamond form to get her by, though it was far less inconspicuous than her telepathy. "Oh well." She said with a deep breath. application was passed by username | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=valign,top][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 40px;] W H I T E Q U E E N |
