A smug grin etched itself across Remy’s handsomely, bearded face as the X-Man strolled into Rattle N Hum with an unique swagger, his duster swaying behind him. Sunglasses adorned the Cajun’s face as he made his way to the bar, giving a brief two finger wave to the first woman that laid eyes on him. Remy wasn’t trying to mimic Scott Summers’ style at all by wearing his shades inside the bar. No, Remy was trying to hide his black and red eyes. He knew well enough that his eyes could in fact alarm some curious individuals. Truth be told, Remy wasn’t in the mood to get his hands dirty tonight. Tonight he just wanted to relax a bit, have as many beers as his body could handle, chat up the bartender and perhaps see if there were any money that the local suckers would be willing to give to him in a game of blackjack.

After spotting the bartender, a young lady with straight blonde hair, green eyes, and a body that could possibly make Emma Frost blush, Remy smiled as he plopped himself down. The young blonde walked up to him, a cute grin on her face.

“What can ah I get for ya honey?” She asked, a sweet light tone accented her words.

“How bout’ a bottle of dat Abita won’t ya chere?” Remy replied, pulling down his shades slightly to give the girl a sneak peek of his eyes. He could have sworn he heard the young belle giggle as she pulled the bottle out of the cooler. Once the bottle was in his hands, Remy told her to keep his tab open until he said stop and started to drink. After a long sip, the Cajun rolled his stool around and started to observe the rest of the crowd. The night was lively, with the sounds of old school rock n roll blasting from the speakers. Remy smiled as he continued to sip his drink, looking to his left side at his fellow customers. Tonight was a night to relax, or find himself a little bit of trouble.

The night was a little too quiet, too calm even. What a bore. Jaquelyn strolled right into the bar, flashing a toothy, devious grin to the security standing guard at the front door. It was a good thing they were too bust smiling right back at her because although being homeless had its great benefits to her, the lack of identification didn't work in her favor. Surely she could have gotten one on her own or gone through the effort to get a fake one, but it wasn't entirely a priority when one could simply become invisible and get in anyway. The fun of alternatives.

A hand rose, stroking fingers through long raven locks of hair as emerald green eyes scanned the bar. Loud rock and roll music blasted through the bar, roaring above any chatter between friendly attendees of the bar. Jaquelyn's tongue ran along her lower lips before biting the soft flesh, eyes locking onto a lush leaning against the wall. He was chatting it up with friends, clearly needing the support of the wall he was leaning on as he held up another mug of beer in cheers. Smirking pale lips, Jaquelyn slipped through the crowd casually before "accidentally" bumping her arm against the man's posterior.

"Oh! Sorry, hun."

Flashing a wink to the drunk, Jaquelyn's fingers worked quickly in the brief encounter, grabbing hold of his wallet and removing it from his pocket. The moment her fingers touched the worn brown leather, the bill fold disappeared- even though her hand appeared to still be grasping onto something. Jaquelyn didn't hesitate to tuck the hidden wallet into her own pocket as she approached the bar counter. Well, judging by its bulk, she could get a few drinks for the night. It would help if she knew where her other half hid their money- the hell was she saving up for?

Jaquelyn took a seat at the counter, perching herself on one of the stools next to a man with disheveled brown hair and quite the interesting coat. Her sweeter smiling demeanor seemed to fade off her face with a much more sly gleam in her eyes.

Her emerald hues managed to get a peek of the crimson glow from the side of his glasses. She kept her comments to herself, ever so tempted to mock the man for wearing the shades indoors. Instead, her intrigued gaze wandered downward, scanning over his figure, posture, any sort of bulk to reveal something worth stealing.

The busty bartender interrupted, forcing Jaquelyn's eyes tear away from the man's physique.

"Mmm, just some whiskey to sip I suppose..."

She spoke in a slow drawl, her index fingertips tracing along a coaster in front of her.

"And two Jager shots. That would be wonderful."

The wide smile formed on her lips once more when the two shots were placed in front of her. Her hand pushed one of the glasses towards the cajun, sliding it to land perfectly in front of him.

"To interesting people..."

Taking her own shot in hand she raised it casually to her neighbor. Jaquelyn's green eyes slid to the side, meeting with the darkened lens of the sunglasses, still smiling. She wasn't a fool by any means, but she did enjoy toying with ones.

Remy took another quick sip of his Abita as his eyes darted around the bar, analyzing every little thing within view. The bar was a sea of men and women in a variety of leather and denim jackets, hoodies, wife beaters, jeans and cargo shorts, all looking as worn out as the floorboards in some of the places Remy used to frequent as a child. Everyone had tattoos, piercings or both. Some were busy enjoying a good drink, others were playing a game of poker, and some were, like Remy, looking for trouble. Remy smirked as he placed his sunglasses back on his face and let his left arm slide into his coat pocket. He slowly pulled out one of several decks of cards and proceeded to do a one handed shuffle as he drank his beer.

Tonight was a normal night for Remy, which meant only one thing: Trouble was around the corner.

Trouble walked into the bar with gorgeous green eyes, luscious black locks and a smile that said "I'm dangerous". Luckily for Remy, he liked dangerous. Through tinted lens, he watched as the chere bumped into a drunk, watching as her hand subtly shifted into the man's pocket. An ordinary person wouldn't have spotted this little gesture, but Remy knew it all too well. Being raised in the Thieves Guild, he practically wrote the book on pickpocketing. He couldn't help but grin wider as the lovely lady made her way to the bar, plopping her behind down on the stool right next to him.

The next thing Remy knew, the lady ordered two shots of Jager and slide one down to him, stopping directly in front of him. He flashed the girl a flirty grin as he picked up the glass. "Merci chere." He said before downing the shot. Once he was gone, he turned to face her, placing his cards back in his pocket as he took a swig of his beer.

"Wat brings a lovely lady such as yourself out here tonight chere?" The Cajun asked, his eyes never leaving hers.

A pale delicate hand gracefully wrapped around the shot glass filled with the dark liquor. Jaquelyn lifted the glass off to the side, up to the man that sat beside her. Her slim black brow lifted briefly when she heard the man's accent, but her grin slid a bit wider as the glass raised to her lips. Tilting her head back, she shot the drink down before placing the glass back against the counter, the glass hardly making a sound against the wood. Each of her movements seemed to flow with graceful silence, she didn't stride to stick out in a crowd, but attention never hurt.

The man took the shot with her, hardly making a flinch from the strong alcohol. She turned on the stood, facing him with her leg crossed over the other in tight dark denim, and perching her head on her finger tips as he spoke to her.

"Nothing better to do, bored.What about you? Just here to sit and stare at eye candy?"

Green, sly eyes shifted to the side where the bartender with the gifted physique continued to work away with other patrons. Jaquelyn's lips pursed, all she saw was flesh with a heart beat. That was how she viewed everyone, nothing more or less. Although flesh did have its benefits from time to time. Her eyes shifted back to the tinted lens.

"Why bother with those? You look stranger sitting in a dimly lit bar with sunglasses than you would with them off." Her hand lowered from her jaw and over the lingering glass of whiskey. "That and you could simply blame the alcohol." Her shoulders lightly shrugged. She truly was bored, and he seemed to be like the perfect person to toy with.

However, she was also quite the impatient person. When she wanted something, she wanted it now. So when the man hesitated, a hand lifted up to his glasses, grabbing the rims of them between her thumb and index fingers. Her pupils dilated and the glasses disappeared with her touch, revealing the crimson eyes behind them.

"There, now is that so bad?" Her hand remained near his face, but appearing to be nothing but flirtatious to the people around them. Not that she would have cared if anyone had seen what she had done at all. In fact, she probably would have enjoyed that.

"You're not the only one with secrets around here, hun." She smirked, lifting her hand away, flicking a lock of loose of brunette hair in the process. The moment her touch left the glasses they reappeared. This part of Jaquelyn was always quick to the point, there was no need to dance around what she wanted it. She just took it. On this man, she got the sense she wanted a good number of things, especially under that coat of his.

This lady hadn't a single clue as to who she was dealing with here.

That was the one thing that crossed Remy's mind as he watched as the young lady's denim covered legs crossed over each other, his smile widening as he took in the view. She was certainly a beauty with those long locks and that infectious smile. That sweet, deep tone that emerged from her lips had him hooked as he returned a roguish grin.

"You could say dat. I'm just enjoying da sights if you catch my meanin' chere." He said before taking another sip, his left hand slowly crawling towards her.

The next thing Remy knew, the young lady, who hadn't even given him her name yet, was commenting on his sunglasses and how silly he looked with them on. Remy kept silent at this statement while trying to find something to say back. He wasn't going to tell her the real reason why he was wearing his sunglasses. Remy normally didn't have a problem with showing off his unique set of eyeballs, but he knew that some folks, especially in New York City, wouldn't take to kindly to seeing them. Ever since the Phoenix incident, it was good to keep a low profile.

And he would have kept it too if the mysterious lady hadn't reached up, grabbed his sunglasses, and vanished them. Just like that. Remy was taken aback by the simplicity of the act. he could still feel the shades on his nose and ears, but the tinted vision was gone. It reminded him of what Susan Richards of the Fantastic Four would often do. Was she a mutant? Judging by the way she didn't react to his eyes, she must have seen a couple of crazy things in her life time. Then again, Remy had seen stranger things.

As she pulled her hand away, his glasses reappeared, darkening the texture of the room. Gambit couldn't help but to smirk as he slowly took his shades off and pocketed them.

"Nice trick there chere. But I can do you one better," He started, as he pulled out a deck of cards. He slowly drew the ace of spades from his deck and moved his hand towards her. In an instant, Remy's eyes glowed a light purple as a purple aura formed around the card. He quickly powered down the card, placed it back in his deck, and faced her again. "I see you might be lookin' for some trouble non? If that is da case, then does this 'trouble' have a pretty name to go with da pretty face chere?" Remy said as he rested his right gloved hand on her own slender wrist.

After removing her hold from the man's glasses, she kept her hands to herself, one of them resting on the bar counter next to her drink. She might get a little more hands on later in the night. Jaquelyn was actually taking her time to play with him, usually she shredded her play things in a matter of an hour. It just wasn't that often she came across a fellow mutant, or at least not one that she could actually spot out. His eyes were certainly something different and it intrigued her curiosity.

There was a grin on her lips when he finally took the glasses off from the bridge of his nose and tuck them away in his coat. The small gesture revealed an opening in his coat, one of the faint lights reflected off of something metallic. In only a glance it looked like a baton of sorts, regardless of what it was, she wanted it in her greedy little fingers, along with anything else he had. Jaquelyn remained patient though, her composure never faulting. Emerald eyes slowly scaled back up to his crimson gaze, hiding her analyzing peak.

Her gaze didn't seem to part from his eyes at the point, appearing to admire the unique stare. Her head tilted to the right, black locks of hair falling over her shoulder in the shift. She knew just how to act to draw her prey in a little closer. Jaquelyn was so sure he was no different than any other man with a weak mind that caved to anything with an hour glass figure. She was certainly up for a surprises though, a little challenge never hurt.

He mentioned that he had his own little trick, making a black brow raise with interest, "Oh?" Jaquelyn sat up on the stool as he pulled out a deck of cards. "Card tricks? That's a little tacky..." She didn't hide the disappointment in her tone, but when the card lit up with a purple glow her lack of interest quickly faded. The violet hue reflected off of her green iris' that appeared trapped in their flames. When the ace of spades returned to its very typical appearance, an actual, genuine smile grew across her face.

"Well, you showed me up, but I don't show all of my cards. Need to leave something to the imagination, right?" Playing with her words, her eyes slid off to the side to watch the man she had snatched a wallet from. He was just now realizing it was gone in the first place. Even though her attention was elsewhere, as the man approached the bar to ask if he left his wallet on the counter, she was still listening to her new found companion. "Trouble? Of course not, just playful, but I do suppose I have name." The smile continued to etch on her lips in the man's frustration, amusing her enough to finally look away and back to the brunette. "Jaquelyn." Her gaze fell on his touching hand to her own, managing a soft laugh. "Does the flirt have one as well?"

Remy couldn't help but to chuckle slightly as he watched her changing expressions as he demonstrated his card trick. Of course she would have first responded with disappointment, after all she had just made his sunglasses disappear and that was the best thing he could do? It wasn't until he gave the card a slight charge that her facial features widened into pure awe. If he hadn't hooked her in before, this little maneuver did the trick. His joy only intensified as she expressed her awe, but not before leaving him hanging for a brief moment.

For Remy LeBeau, talking to women was like playing a game of poker. You had to play your cards just right in order to win the pot. Luckily, Remy was a master at these type of games. That is why he appreciated the little mystery added at the end of the girl's sentence. It kept the game more interesting, raising the stakes a little bit.

And Remy LeBeau loved a good challenge.

"Jaquelyn," He mused slightly, uttering the name in slow, deliberate, yet smooth fashion; lingering slightly on the last syllable. "A pretty name to fit a pretty face." The X-Man finished as he lifted her palm. He leaned in to kiss the top of her hand, letting his soft lips grace her skin oh so slightly.

"Remy LeBeau at yourself mon chere. But you can call me 'Gambit'." Gambit finished his sentence as he watched her eyes dart to the side. The poor buffoon that Jaquelyn had pick-pocketed earlier had finally come to his senses and started to search for his wallet. While the lady was distracted, Remy quickly reached down with his other hand, moved slightly into her jean pocket, and slowly removed the wallet she had just stolen. He quickly dropped the wallet in his coat pocket before the would be thief turned back to face him. He flashed another playful grin at her as he downed his beer.

He then turned to the bartender to order two more beers: one for him and one for the lady. Once he received both drinks, he passed Jaquelyn's on to her and smiled.

"To good times?" He suggested as he took a quick sip, his eyes never leaving hers.

They were both playing games, but neither of them would fully realize it until it was too late for one of them. Jaquelyn was far too cocky to ever think she was the one being played. She saw herself as quite the cunning fox, capable of outwitting any of the fowl she chased. However, she was actually pretty blind due to her arrogance. She would never see it that way though.

His lips pressed to her hand, "Gambit, huh?" It was interesting how mutants always developed nicknames for themselves. They thought they needed to do something with their powers, make a difference. Jaquelyn purely used her powers for her own sick, twisted amusement and to get by on the streets of New York. Sure, surviving was top priority, but it didn't mean she couldn't have a little fun.

She had continued to watch the man until he got so fed up he eventually left, causing her to stiffle a laugh before looking back to Remy, entirely unaware he had snagged the stolen wallet.

"I've gone by Streets here and there, but which ever you prefer." She watched him polish off his beer and order two more for them to share. Her whiskey had gone untouched, she didn't really like to get tipsy. She hated being in a daze and lacking control was already a pet peeve of hers concerning her body, let along her mind. Jaquelyn couldn't help but be a bit of light weight due to her physique, but she took the bear in her free hand regardless.

Her other hand lingered in Remy's, fingertips tracing along the palm of his hand. Raising the beer to click against that cajun's she nodded with a smile, "The night only gets better from here, Remy." With the said, she brought the bottle to her lips to take a sip. Their shared gaze held for some time, but Jaquelyn didn't hesitate to be blunt, "So did you really just come here for eye candy?"

She just needed a reason for the two to get a little closer, to get away from the crowd. Her heart was pumping, mind racing with the idea of an actual challenge, someone who would fight back. It didn't even matter what was on him now, she was just feeling a bit feisty. "Like you said, trouble is here..."

So she partook in the flirting game as well it seems. That was yet another thing Jaquelyn, or Streets as she referred to herself as, and Remy had in common. Aside from the fact that they had a habit of pickpocketing the closest drunk they could find. As the sounds of Robert Johnson's slide guitar filtered through the airwaves, Remy's mind began to quickly analyze this situation. This lady, as drop dead gorgeous as she was, was obviously up to no good. If he was going to have his own share of fun, he'd have to be extra careful with this one.

At the same time however, he could have so much more fun by not being so cautious.

"The night only gets better from here, Remy. So did you really just come here for eye candy?"

A very blunt one too, he thought as his $#&% eating grin only intensified. Remy leaned in for a second, his crimson orbs staring deep into her emerald ones. "Nah chere, I came here just to get myself into a little trouble, you know?" He said as he quickly gave the young lady a kiss on the cheek, admiring the way her soft skin felt on his smooth lips. As he pulled away, his free hand pulled out his own wallet, retrieved a 50 dollar bill and placed it on the table. "I'll cover da check." He said as he waited for the waitress to retrieve the bill. As he did so, his eyes once again scanned her lithe body. Part of him loved the way the the jeans and top clung to her body, showing off a very attractive physique. The attire was extremely simple, but that didn't change anything at all. She was still a stunner. Remy had to admit he was glad Rogue was off doing some tasks with the Uncanny Avengers at the moment, or else he would have been in big trouble.

But, Remy told himself mentally, I wanted trouble tonight.

After gesturing to the waitress to keep the change, Remy turned to his new found acquaintance and smiled. "So chere, tell me, whats on da agenda tonight? A lil' stroll through Central Park suit your fancy?" He said with a grin, slowly locking his fingers with her own. "Mind if I ask why dey call you Streets?"

The moment the words trouble slipped out in her silky voice she bit the corner of her lower lip. Dark eye shadow brushed along her eyelids curved out past her lashes, giving her quite the vixen appearance. Jaquelyn’s eyes were wide with excitement as she looked up in Remy’s alluring irises, bidding him to take the bait and leave the bar with the less than stable woman. She went out to find a bit of fun and she certainly found quite the pretty toy. Remy LeBeau was quite the charmer and even though she wasn’t very easily suckered in, a handsome face with quite the magic trick would catch the eye of any girl. He just played cards with the wrong one.

Her flirtatious grin grew larger as he moved in closer her, confessing he wanted to be a bit of a bad boy himself tonight. As long as this part of the woman was in control, there was no stopping her from creating a little chaos and misery to unfortunate souls. A quick death would have granted them mercy, something Jaquelyn would never comprehend. She always knew how to play her cards, she had never gotten caught for a reason, and not just because she could disappear in the blink of an eye. Remy really didn’t have a single clue who he was dealing with.

“I think you found your partner in crime then…” Jaquelyn whispered into his ear as he moved to place a gentle kiss on her warm cheek, the stubble on his chin brushing against her. Her back straightened from her arched form as the Cajun offered to pay their tabs. Her lips pursed looking down at the glass of whiskey. She didn’t enjoy the sensation of being inebriated, but at the same time she didn’t appreciate things going to waste. As Remy’s eyes scanned over her physique she shot back her glass of whiskey without so much of a flinch and moved to take a final sip of her beer.

Leaving the beer half empty on the counter, she gave Gambit a sly little grin as she stepped down from the stool. There was a light thud of her boots as her weight fell onto her toes. The shoes were slim, reaching up to her knees but hidden under her jeans that clung tightly to her hips. Standing, her black v-neck top revealed to be cut a little short, revealing the flawless pale skin underneath that Jaquelyn was so fond of showing off.

She found her hand wrapped into his, their fingers lacing together as the strolled out of the bar that continued to blast the rock and roll tunes. “Somewhere quiet would be nice.” She spoke so casually, as if she only meant to escape the noise of the crowded bar. Ideas began playing in her mind of just what she would do once the two were indeed alone. There were so many choices. The thoughts took pause when he asked about her name. She wasn’t entirely sure. It was just some stupid name her idiot, so called better half took over. Jaquelyn just heard it when she passed apparent acquaintances of her- well, former ones anyway. It didn’t seem like she made very many friends anymore. Did she really need to wonder why?

“I’m just on them a lot I suppose, have been all my life.” Her life indeed, the other half in fact had a very loving family with a warm, comfortable home. They were dead now too, my, what a crummy life she had. She stared down the street as the two walked hand in hand towards Central Park, “Don’t always have a place to call home for the night…” Jaquelyn made it clear in her tone that she wasn’t really looking for sympathy, but more of a hint for the man with the crimson eyes.

“I think you found your partner in crime then…” The young vixen whispered as Remy finished his romantic gesture. Maybe it was the alcohol affecting him, but Remy couldn't help but to flash a Cheshire cat like grin at that statement. Remy couldn't remember the last time he cause a little trouble since the Phoenix incident, or since he traveled around the country with Laura. In all honesty, he was growing bored of his standard routine at the Institute and needed a change of pace. While he didn't hate his job as a teacher, Remy believed that everyone needed a little excitement now and again.

And this was the excitement he was looking for.

As he lead the young lady outside, he listened to her explanation of her nickname, which was easily summarized in a brief sentence. Short and sweet, not bothering to go into some elaborate explanation. That was perfect for Remy, he wasn't the type to sit and listen to someone giving an in-depth reason as to why they acquired something as minor as a nickname.

As the cool, Summer breeze blew around them, Jaquelyn said something else to the Cajun X-Man.

“Don’t always have a place to call home for the night…”

This statement cause Gambit to frown slightly. So the young mutant was homeless? That added to the explanation to her nickname. She lived on the streets, similar to how Gambit himself grew up in New Orleans back in the day. Yet another thing the two of them had common. Gambit sighed very slightly as he reflected on this circumstance. He himself was lucky that he joined up with the X-Men and became a master thief. With the amount of valuables he had stolen over the years, he had acquired a fortune that possibly made him richer then Charles Xavier was. It explained how he was able to afford two apartments in New Orleans and New York City respectively. With the X-Men, Gambit was part of a family of sorts. Streets, however, wasn't as fortunate as he was.

A sly smile soon worked its way across the Cajun's face. This was no time for him to be sappy about the unfortunate circumstances of others. This was a time for fun.

"I have a place in da city Chere. Maybe if you play your cards right, I'll let you crash in my place for da night." He said, winking a crimson eye at her. "Maybe you an' I can have our own little fu-"

The sound of rustling bushes stopped his sentence. His eyes narrowed slightly as he muscles began to tense up. He held out a hand in front of Jaquelyn, as if to protect her from some unknown threat.

Then, five men, with the garb and build of some old school biker gangs, emerged from the bushes and surrounded them. The smell of cigarettes emitted from their breathes as they smiled at the two mutants, moving in menacingly.

"Hand ova anything you got," One man slurred, swaying side to side as he glared at Gambit. Another man eyeballed Jaquelyn with interest, giving a wolfish whistle as he made the next statement.

"Hey there baby, why don't you ditch this loser and hang with us? We'll take GOOD care of you." He chuckled.

Gambit smirked again as he slowly took in his opponents. These fools were obviously drunk as hell and were crazy enough to do anything. Unfortunately, they picked the wrong guy to jump.

"Believe me mes amis when I say dis: you don' wanna do dis. You fellas are obviously drunk. If you ask me, you're gonna be feelin' all of dis in da mornin'," He started, flashing a grin at Streets, as if to say I got dis. "So how bout' you just turn yourselves around an' find a nice garbage can to puke outta. Because I'm tellin' you right now: Dis Joker is wild tonight."

It was at that moment that one of the men charged at Remy. He attempted to punch the Cajun, but Gambit was fast, grabbing the top of the man's head and jumping over him, bringing his feet hard on the man's back to send him flying into the ground. When Gambit landed, he swept another man off his feet before standing up to back hand another.

The men slowly started to climb to their feet and snarled at the Cajun. Remy couldn't help but to grin mischievously as he gave the "Bring it" motion with his right hand middle and index fingers.

This was the trouble he as asking for.

There was always a story to tell, always something to say to soften up any sort of wall that had been built, and promise her a place to go. It might have been the most truthful tale she had ever spun, but nothing that slipped past those soft smirking lips really meant a thing. There was always somewhere to go and with the ability to sneak into any place she desired, the world was her hotel. Still, what sort of fun was going to bed alone? Jaquelyn wasn’t entirely fond of any sort of commitment; that included a lease. It was fun in her eyes to awaken somewhere new every day, some place she didn’t remember getting to. The two of them were always on the move.

Remy seemed to take the bait, even flashing a play red wink at her, but the two came to a sudden halt. Jaquelyn stopped just before Remy’s outstretched hand, her brow raised with quite the unamused glare when some men appeared in the dark night. Oh she was not having any of this. Her lips pursed as her hands placed themselves heavily on her exposed hips, shifting her weight to one side. Did it look like she had anything? She didn’t even carry a purse. These guys were idiots.

Her beaming gaze landed especially on the one with the roaming eyes. Jaquelyn couldn’t help but pull out a smile from his words. Remy tried to talk them out of it, but Streets was more than ready to egg them on. “Look all you want boys…” Her hands rose up from her hips and held out to her sides, putting herself on display for only a moment before quickly making her figure disappear. The flashed a quick glance up to Remy to return the “I got this” stare just the moment before completely vanishing, rubbing it a bit in his face she was no damsel. The man that had his eyes set on her was certainly taken back.

It would have been so easy to simply strangle them, cut them- but she had to behave. She didn’t want to scare off her new little friend just yet. With her movements hidden, Jaquelyn rushed the one that had been looking her over, her hands opened with her palms up. Moving her hands back, then suddenly upward, her body never made a single impact, but instead an invisible form of energy pounded against his jaw. Hopping over his hunched figure, she swung her arms downward, giving a strong hit to the back of his head and knocking him out cold before he could even hit the ground. The second half of her powers didn’t need to be revealed just yet, needing to keep a few cards up her sleeve, Jaquelyn was sure to make her movements appear to be all physical blows- even if she never touched him.

Well that was one down. Glancing over to Remy, she saw a few men get up to their feet. She needed to pull her fair share of work she supposed. Before one could even get a decent stance on the ground, Jaquelyn’s hand sharply rose, pressing an invisible wall against the man’s body and slamming him to be pinned against the tree. Streets wasn’t strong enough to do such a feat on her own, but with the right momentum it could have been possible. Slowly she approached them, her unseen fingers slowly curling and causing the shield to shrink and focus around his neck. Looking up at him as he gasped for air, her cruel gaze softened, a gentle smile crossing her face. She held him there, watching the life slowly leave his limp body before raising her elbow to press against his throat. Jaquelyn had to have her way. The moment she was sure the man was dead, her fingers curled into a tight fist, causing her to reappear and the shield around his neck to retreat. She stood there, elbow to his throat, appearing to have done it herself, and then allowing him to drop to the ground.

Looking over her shoulder, she flashed a wink over to Gambit, standing over the lifeless figure, and then vanished once more. In no time she reappeared right in front of him, pressed close up to him, hands placed on seductively over his waist. One hand in particular finally getting a grasp on his bo-staff. A playful smile was strung across her face as she looked up to him, bringing her lips closely to his. She obviously didn’t think much of the situation around them. “Are you done yet?” Two out of five down.

The moment Jaquelyn knew she had a good grip on the staff, she let Remy get back to it. He was the one that wanted the fight. Her curiosity had surely gotten the best of her. Vanishing once more, Jaquelyn stepped aside with the bo-staff in hand. He would be a minute giving her plenty of time to play around with the thing. Had to be worth something…

Literally seconds before Remy could successfully avoid a confrontation, Streets' pretty voice filled the air, egging the drunk fools on. Remy turned to see that the girl had pulled a Sue Storm, vanishing from sight. Looks like there was more to this girl than met the eye. Remy barely had time to worry about her well being as the three men ran towards him, fists clenched and ready to unload.

As an ex-member of infamous Thieves Guild of New Orleans and a master of the French martial arts style of Savate, Remy LeBeau was one of the fiercest hand to hand combatants in the Big Easy. As one of the men approached him, Remy quickly swung his right leg up towards the man's head before extending his knee out, executing a Foutee whip kick. This sent the man stumbling off to the side in pain. Remy had no time to react to him as another thug charged. Carrying over the momentum from his last kick, Remy brought his still swinging leg down before crouching low. Then, he jumped upwards, spinning in the air slightly as he unleashed a powerful tornado kick to his foe's head. The impact of Remy's foot hitting the head caused the man's body to corkscrew in the air briefly before landing flat on the ground.

Remy smiled like a butcher's dog as the third man stopped his charge, hesitantly looking at his two companions before looking back at the Cajun. Obviously the man was having second thoughts of attacking him but Remy wouldn't give him the time of day to consider his options. You had to finish what you started after all. Remy smirked and repeated his two finger gesture.

"C'mon mon ami!" Remy taunted, hoping the fool took the bait.

He was happy to say that the man did just that, his face blurred so red that he resembled a fresh tomato. He ran towards him, yelling angrily at the Cajun. Remy smiled and reacted with a pointe au foie. He punched out straight to render him off balance before spinning his back leg around to kick him in between his ninth and tenth ribs. Remy took extreme care to make sure he didn't break any ribs, he wanted to prolong this little fight as much as he could.

Before he could turn his attention to the downed foes, the lovely raven haired form of streets reappeared right in front of him, startling Remy. He instinctively went to his pocket to pull out his bo staff when he felt her slender hands on his waist. Adrenaline kicked into high gear, Remy couldn't help but to let out gasp of pleasure as the attractive girl winked at him. “Are you done yet?”

Remy couldn't help but to grin at that statement, not realizing that her hands were in his coat pocket, retrieving his bo staff. Remy slowly lifted his right hand to brush some of her raven locks behind her ear. "Almost chere. Now its time for me to deal my hand." He said before she vanished again.

Turning back around, Remy was surprised to see that the thugs were climbing to their feet, obviously preparing for another round. Unfortunately, it was time to end this little game. Remy reached into his pocket and retrieved three playing cards from one of his decks. His eyes flashed a dark purple as his kinetic powers started to effect the cards. They glowed with a purple flame as he smiled at the men.

"Here mes amis, pick a card!" He said as he threw the cards at their feet. Their eyes widened in absolute horror as they scurried away before the inevitable happened. A loud boom echoed throughout the park as the cards exploded, leaving a miniature crater in their wake. Remy was happy to say that the men had gotten away before the boom. He was in no mood for spilling blood and besides, he probably had caused enough trouble here to get NY's finest on the scene. He started to run away into the park, yelling out to the girl to follow him if she could.

Once Remy was certain they were safe, he stopped to see if she had followed him. As he did so, he stopped to reach his hands into his coat pocket. He paused as he started to pat his pockets. Something was off. He quickly opened his coat to check in the inside pockets. Red eyes widened as he realized that his staff was missing. How could that possibly happen? Remy thought as he frantically checked every pocket. He was sure he didn't lose it in the fight. He was much more careful to allow that to happen.

Then his mind clicked back to his sudden close encounter with his new friend, remembering how she had stolen the wallet from the poor slab at the bar. That's when all the pieces to the puzzle came together.

"Clever girl..." He mused out loudly. It had to be her. He knew thieves well enough to know that once they get the hint of something with value, they'll want to put their hands all over it. A cheeky smile crossed his face as he dug his hand in his pocket. Two could play this game.

"I see you may have somethin' dat is mine chere. I gotta say dat as smooth as you are," He said as he raised the wallet into the air. "You aren't as smooth as me."

The rough housing Cajun might have acted like he was a smooth talker and quite the playboy, but he really wasn’t any different from any other guy. A pretty face and a seductive wink was enough for him to drop his guard and allow Streets’ eager fingers to finally get ahold of what she had been eyeing all night. Soft laughter escaped her lips just before her slim figure disappeared, a strand of black hair was moved to be tucked behind ear rather affectionately by Remy. He had quite the thing for making card puns, it was a little entertaining to see what other ones he had up his sleeve.

Stepping away, Jaquelyn twirled the metallic baton over her knuckles, her back turned to Remy as he carried on with handling the situation. Her eyes fell on the lifeless form fallen beside the tree, her lips pursed, it was a bit out of character for her to just leave someone out in the open like that. Usually she liked to make sure they were never found, labeled a missing person for months and even years before they were finally presumed dead. Kept her name clean, for the both of them. As much as she despised her other half, if one got in trouble, the other was sure to suffer. At least there wasn’t a trace of her, like most places she went to.

Slender fingers traced along the cold surface, it had to do something, but there was no sort of switch or button. Whatever, someone else could figure out the value for her. Jaquelyn tucked the staff behind her, securing it under her belt. There was the sudden booming sound of an explosion, making her jump with bright, wide eyes. “The hell?!” Streets quickly whipped around with her hands out and opened, ready to do some bloody damage. Her brow quirked up though, seeing it was actually those silly little playing cards causing the powerful racket. Well, that was certainly a hell of a trick.

He beckoned her to run and with a little hop into the first step, she took off running. She wouldn’t have minded playing a little bit longer, but at least she had what she was craving. Her footsteps were lightly muffled in crisp grass, even in boots she managed to keep her movements relatively silent. Moving a few steps ahead, she leaped and pressed her foot firmly against the trunk of a nearby tree, lifting herself up to a lower, thick branch. Straddling over the bark, her feet dangled as she lowered her body, and her head rested atop of her forearm.

She watched Remy with a large grin as he felt around his pockets, clearly looking for his lost artifact. ”Clever girl…” The smile continued to grow until it was practically ear to ear. She continued to watch him dig into his pocket, but instead, he pulled out a rather familiar wallet. Jaquelyn’s smile quickly faded into a harsh scowl. She didn’t entirely enjoy the idea of being tricked like that, or at all for that matter. “Do you always take the liberty of getting into a girls pants?” Her head lifted to perch in the palm of her hand as her figure slowly appeared from head to tiptoe. The cold metal touched against the small of her back, with a bit of focus she managed to keep the weird little item hidden under her invisible cloak. “And what exactly would I have of yours? Your heart? I’m flattered…” Her demeanor had changed, she was no longer flirting, but in fact quite bitter

“Do you always take the liberty of getting into a girls pants?” Jaquelyn's annoyed tone rang out as she slowly materialized on the top of a nearby tree. Remy couldn't help but to smile even wider as he beheld her position, lying on top of that branch like the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. Satisfaction flowed through him as her wide grin shifted to a much more sour expression.

"Only da ones dat are worth it chere?" He said before giving a polite bow.

“And what exactly would I have of yours? Your heart? I’m flattered…”

She was quite the sassy one, Remy thought as he reached up to stroke his stubble briefly, chuckling at her statement before countering with his own.

"Dat cuts deep chere," He said with mock sorrow, clasping his hand over his heart before folding both his arms. "But actually, its dat small metal baton you took from my jacket. It may not seem like something of value to you, but it means a lot to me. I think we can maybe work out a deal." Remy said as he held the wallet up high. He knew that there was no way Jaquelyn was going to return his bo staff to him. Thieves never return something they have stolen. But if there was a business bone within the young lady, she couldn't resist an offer.

"How bout you gimme back da baton," He started holding the wallet between his index and middle fingers. Then the wallet began to glow a bright violet as flames started form around it. "Or I blow up all dis money you worked so hard to steal from dat poor sap. What do you say chere?" He asked as he casually rotated the wallet within his fingers. A part of Remy knew that there was possibility that she would not fall for this trick, or not go along with it easily. But what he had to do was get her close to him. The closer she was to him, the easier it was for him to charge her brain command her to give him his staff back.

"C'mon now chere, I thought we were gonna be friends. You don't want to spoil dat now do ya?"
