She isn't tall, only about five foot seven and she battles to keep an average weight with her not-so-filling way of life on the streets. Her arms are only lightly toned, showing the little muscle she has. Her raven black hair reaches just below her shoulder blades, usually looking disheveled or pulled back out of her face to reveal her green eyes. For the most part she tries to avoid looking the homeless type, wanting to keep herself away from sticking out. Jaquelyn, from a psychological stand point, is an extremely complex person, but when you talk to her- it’s really not the difficult to figure out. Jaquelyn suffers from dissociative identity disorder, which causes her to have two entirely different persona. Primary Jaquelyn: A very bored and unamused person, she tends to laze around and just do things to get by. When talking to her you can only expect a sarcastic remark. Although she is known for doing some horrible things, she does have a moral code and really isn’t interested in hurting anyone. Her only desire is to survive in a world that is against her. Jaquelyn is also extremely unopinionated, just goes along with whatever is happening around her. She knows very well if she allows herself to become emotional in anyway, it will only result in her losing control over her mental stability. Secondary Jaquelyn: Revealed after the stressful appearance of her powers, this girl shows no mercy. She craves the sick thrill of murder and has no problem taking out pests in her way. Blunt and cruel being the easiest way to describe how she speaks to other people, this side of Jaquelyn truly is just looking out for herself and always looking to be entertained. Finding herself superior over her other half, this Jaquelyn thrives on trying to take full advantage over the body the two women share. She seeks any thrill be it a lustful desire or listening to the shrilling cries of her victims. Both believe mutants are superior, one more extreme than the other. HISTORY Jaquelyn was raised in a family that had high membership in the Friends of Humanity. Never really caring, which was her tendency, she went along with her parent's her and her older brother, Troy, who became obsessive over the Friend of Humanity. It was their family's church, going to meetings once a week to learn the latest breaking news on the spread of filthy mutants. In high school, where she was a perfectly average student, her powers emerged after almost getting hit by a car while walking home from school, becoming invisible and actually making the situation worse and further in harm’s way. Jaquelyn got home physically fine, but for once she became overwhelmed with emotions, a majority being panic. Avoiding her family at all cost that night, she simply went to bed early. She awoke moments later though, not entirely herself. With the immense stress and paranoia her nerves couldn't settle from, a second personality formed, lost and confused to the sudden existence without an inkling of an idea just who she was. Her previous form's emotions still lingered, scared and desperate for sanctuary. The secondary Jaquelyn became infuriated believing her parents(which she didn’t know they were) to be the cause of her mysterious fear, killing them. Leaving quite the bloody scene, Troy woke the next morning- his parents dead and sister missing. Jaquelyn walked the streets for several years after that, and still does. She only hears of these "snaps of sanity" from people she's become familiar with in the alleyways of New York, never actually being diagnosed by a doctor of any sort. The constant reports of mutants painted as pure evil keeps her on her toes on the streets. Constantly terrified of being found and linked to her parents murder (which the other half brags about often), she lies low, if need be to use her powers to get around the big city. Her other half on the other hand enjoys flaunting her powers, feeling the base humans should fear her. Overall the two of them have had no desire to find a home, not wanting to risk being detained and unsure if hear-say sanctuaries are really what they've heard of them being. Combined, they know they can't trust anybody and the only thing that matters, is survival. POWERS AND ABILITIES Invisibility- Jaquelyn is capable of entirely cloaking herself to be invisible to the human eye. This includes her clothing and anything she may be touching- with limitations. She has never been able to conceal more than a second person and even that requires her to focus. The downside to this mutation is it only hides her visible form, her infrared signal is still capable of being seen with the right equipment or even mutation. This form also does not make her stealthy genetically or conceal her scent. Force Fields- This mutation developed later on in Jaquelyn's life, forming as a defense mechanism of sorts. The shields can either encase her in a bubble of protection or a wall to block attacks. Further practicing this skill Jaquelyn learned the defensive power could also be manipulated into forms of weapons; when thinned with momentum behind them- blades. These shields are directly released from the palms of her hands, so if restrained she is entirely incapable of using the force fields. These shields don't take up much focus, able to think pretty quickly on her feet with them, but they do require a lot of energy. Much like muscles these shields can only hold back and put forth so much force, when it is pushed past the point of stability, the shields will crack and ultimately break putting Jaquelyn in the way for a world of pain. Stamina & Strength- Both of these powers rely on Jaquelyn's own physical health. If she's exhausted or wounded she is put in a nearly powerless position. For this reason Jaquelyn has learned how to conserve her energy, although it doesn't help her very much. She isn't particularly strong at all, so her shields can only protect her so much due to her own faults. Stealth- Jaquelyn isn't a strong person at all, and with her originating powers being invisibility she's learned to master the art of silence. Without silence anyone could simply hear her walking about in her cloaked form. Knowing how to carry herself, her steps are silent as well as her movements. Speed- This is nothing more than slightly above average. Jaquelyn has done a lot of running in her life and proved useful in her daily life. She can run as far as she needs to and avoid faces she doesn't wish to see once her feet start moving. Intelligence- Jaquelyn is not book smart, having dropped out of high school, but she is smart when it comes to the streets of New York. She knows where to go for food, where to hide, and where to avoid entirely. She's also shown to be pretty quick on her feet when it comes to a fight. Although she personally has no fighting skills, she knows how to utilize her powers to protect and attack for her. Telepaths- The two persona's hold their own, personal, private memories that the other cannot recall ever living. This can be confusing to telepaths as whatever persona is present is the only mind which can be read and not the other. This has yet to be challenged by a powerful telepath such as Xavier. ROLE-PLAYING SAMPLE The last few minutes of sophomore English seemed to drag on for over an hour. The girl had had enough of the education system for once day. The midterms had just wrapped up and long, boring lectures and found their place back into the classroom rather than filling out study guides. At last, as the teacher finished covering the synopsis of the Glass Menagerie, the bell finally rung out throughout the school campus. Jaquelyn sat up from her desk, collecting her books, and stuffing them into her bag as she headed towards the door. Other students had lingered, saying goodbye, see you tomorrow, to make plans for after school- Jaquelyn didn't do that. She had no friends of any form in the class and only a small handful in any other. It wasn't that the girl was weird and deterred people away from her, she was simply quiet. It took a lot for her to say much of anything, even when the teacher called on her, her voice seemed to linger, hesitating to break the silence. Regardless, she didn't need to hesitate a single moment to begin walking home. Not much awaited her there either, aside from a peaceful, quiet room to herself. Her sandals hit clapped against her heels as she strode up the dirt path behind the school, making her way home on foot like she did every day since middle school. Her lips remained sealed, not even humming a tune, only listening to the buzzing cars pass her by. Jaquelyn was just a quiet kid, not because she was shy, she just didn’t have very much to say. If she had to say anything it would be, “I don’t care” which she would accompany with a light shrug of her shoulders, being entirely indifferent to just about everything. Glancing over her shoulder, the street had cleared, granting her the opportunity to turn on her toes on to the street and make her way across the wide road. A thought had never crossed her mind the entire time she walked, simply enjoying the blossoming trees around the neighborhood, and yet her attention hesitated to notice the speeding car charging directly at her. Horrified emerald eyes locked onto the front bumper of the car, finding herself frozen in the short distance that was left to clear between her and the vehicle. She gasped, preparing herself to take the hit when the sound of screeching brakes rang on the silent streets. Her eyes had squeezed shut, arms raised to protect her head from the blow, but nothing happened. She was still standing there, the smell of burned rubber against the street stung at her nostrils as she listened to the horrified driver exit his car. “Hello?! I swear…I saw someone…” Slowly, Jaquelyn’s arms lowered, looking at the hood of the care no more than a few inches from her. She still couldn’t find her voice, only manage to stumble back and out of the way of the car as the driver got back in. He drove off, a lot slower, and watched a girl appear in his rear view mirror clutching at her backpack as she watched him drive away. application was passed by Falcon | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=valign,top][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 40px;] S T R E E T S |
