She hesitated outside the door of his office, giving herself a pause and running over her thoughts once more. Was this really necessary...?
Yes, it was.
With all of the attacks going on, the new rules... No, this was definitely something that Sooraya needed to find out. Her placement within these rules, whether she was part of them, above them, or what, was very important to her. While she was certainly one to follow the rules, if they were not applicable to herself, that would make everything far easier, and she could help others in the process. Yes, finding out her standings within the new rules was something that certainly needed to be done.
In addition, she was part of the X-Men. One hand went down to lightly finger her sash, thumb running across it, as that thought came to mind. School, student, or not, she was a member of that team, and if it took unrolling from school to be considered a full fledged member once more, she would do it. While she loved this school, the happier times that had once gone with it, all of that... She had grown up and moved on.
If there was some way that she could help, ease the burden of others in some way, even if it was simply escorting people, she would do it. That was her way, that was her creed.
This had already been decided for her long before she ever approached this room, hadn't it? A wry smile formed underneath her niqab, and Sooraya reached out to rap lightly on his door. "Mr. LeBeau? It is Dust, may I speak with you for a moment?"
She knew his office hours were at this time, hence why she had chosen him. It also did not seem right to go straight to the Headmaster...

Most professor spent their office hours reviewing papers, designing lesson plans and figuring out how they will address the class the next day. The same, believe it or not, can applied to professors at the Jean Grey School For Higher Learning. While the main goal of the school was to help newer mutants learn how to use their powers, it still functioned the same way that other, non-mutant schools did.
However, Remy LeBeau wasn't like most professors.
A pile of papers from his Sex Ed class lay on one side of his desk, haven't been moved since someone delivered the papers to him. Remy LeBeau leaned back in his chair, feet propped up on his desk, with one of his several decks in his hand. The room was littered with playing cards in various places. Gambit closed one of his ruby eyes as he focused on the bookshelf in the top right corner of his room. With a grin and a quick hand gesture, the ace of spades flew out of his deck and landed directly in that spot.
With all the craziness that was going on right now, Gambit needed a moment to simply enjoy himself. It wasn't like the attacks on the students didn't bother him, in fact it quite the opposite. But if he spent his time worrying, then that would have a direct effect on his students, and he couldn't have that.
Gambit's concentration was broken by the sounds of the door rapping and a light middle eastern accent.
Dust, a student he had seen around Utopia for quite sometime, but never really had the chance to interact with her at all. Well, it was time to change that.
"C'mon in Petite, da door is open." Remy said, removing his feet from their unprofessional position.

"Thank you." Ah, good, he was willing to talk to her. Carefully opening the door, and turning slightly to close it gently behind her, feeling vaguely vulnerable with her back turned towards him, even though he was a teacher (then again, with the ones that they had had in the past...), Sooraya turned to step in, eyes lightly scanning the room and taking in the various cards, the pile of papers, and all of the room, before landing lightly on the teacher himself.
Hopefully this would go well.
Paying attention to where her feet went, not wanting to step on the various cards that littered the room (why were they there? That was a question that she wanted answered, but yet, at the same time, she was unsure if she would like the answer...), Sooraya made her soft way to a chair, pleased that they had them in most offices. It made it far simpler, and for a moment, she exhaled, arranging her abaya around her, very much aware that she was alone with a male with the door shut and knowing that was against Allah, but also knowing it was necessary.
Allah, please forgive her. She was only attempting to do what was right, and she was sure that he would understand.
"I had a few... questions, regarding the new rules, Mr. Lebeau?" Sooraya began, her quiet statement rising into a touch of a question, at the end. "I was unsure, given my status as a member of the X-Men, and not merely a student, how exactly it applied to me, and whether there was anything that I could do to help, as well..." Her hands rested lightly in her lap, folded together, head just slightly bowed, for she was to not look directly at him, yet eyes shifted upwards to gauge his response.
She hoped she would like the answer.
